Eliminating Parasitic and Neglected Tropical Disease Threats to the United States - Program Support and Research to Reduce Threats to Americans at Home and Abroad
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is seeking applications to expand its network of collaborating entities for research and technical assistance to countries endemic for neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) and other parasitic threats. The purpose of this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is to advance strategic and applied research to help control and eliminate NTDs. Key strategies for controlling and eliminating NTDs include ensuring access to effective preventive chemotherapy, vector control tools, timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment, and access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).
• The CDC will provide funding for up to 5 years, with a total expected program funding of $10,000,000.
• The program will support research that provides tools and information to improve NTD and parasitic disease program activities.
• The recipient of the award must implement funds to effectuate program goals or agency priorities in accordance with CDC priorities.
• The program will also integrate evaluation and surveillance activities for multiple NTDs and other parasitic diseases.
