Cosmetology Center Relocation / Renovation within the K Building.

Western Piedmont Community College is proposing to relocate and renovate the K building. The renovations will consist of demolition work, HVAC upfit, addition of water and other plumbing needs as related to cosmetology along with cosmetic remodeling for the facility. The project includes the renovation of approximately 24,528 square feet of space. The scope of work includes demolition, new construction, and finishes. The project requires compliance with the North Carolina Building Code and ANSI A117.1-2009 Accessibility Standard. • Demolition of existing walls, doors, and finishes • Installation of new HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems • Construction of new walls, doors, and finishes • Installation of new fixtures, appliances, and equipment • Compliance with accessibility standards and building codes The college is seeking bids from qualified contractors to perform the work. The project is expected to start in July 2026 and be completed within a few months. • The contractor will be responsible for all aspects of the project, including demolition, construction, and installation of new systems and finishes • The contractor will be required to comply with all applicable building codes and accessibility standards • The contractor will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work site • The contractor will be required to provide all necessary labor, materials, and equipment to complete the project
