Non Profit Housing Providers for Development and Operation of Social Housing at 159 East Hastings St

The City of Vancouver is seeking experienced non-profit organizations to design, build, operate, and maintain a new mixed-use social housing project at 159 East Hastings Street. The project will include approximately 139 units of social housing and a community use on the ground floor. The selected proponent will be responsible for completing the design and construction of the project, and will enter into a Development Management Agreement and a Ground Lease with the City. The project is expected to meet the City's affordability requirements, including 20% Deep Subsidy Income Units, 50% Rent Geared to Income Units, and 30% Low to Moderate Income Market Rent. • The project will be located on a 1,135 square meter site in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. • The project will include a shared amenity space on the ground floor, which will be operated by the selected proponent. • The project will meet the City's requirements for accessibility and adaptability. • The project will include up to 25% family units. • The selected proponent will be required to enter into agreements with BC Housing, including an Operating Agreement and a Ground Lease.
