NEWRF Filter Station - Partial Filter Media Replacement

The City of St. Petersburg is seeking bids from a qualified vendor to perform partial filter media replacements at the Northeast Water Reclamation Facility. The project consists of removing, disposing, and replacing the top layers of filter media within the existing four filter beds. The vendor will be responsible for furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, and supervision necessary to complete the project. Key requirements include having been in the business of removing and installing filter media for municipal or industrial water or wastewater treatment facilities for a minimum of 3 years, providing a minimum of two references from completed projects of similar size and complexity, and meeting all bonding and insurance requirements. The evaluation criteria will include factors such as experience, qualifications, and price. • The project involves removing and replacing approximately 30 inches of anthracite coal, 10 inches of filter sand, and 2 inches of 1/4” x 1/8” gravel per filter bed. • The vendor must provide a single point of contact to administer the agreement and ensure that all work is completed without disrupting the facility's operations. • The vendor must also provide a safety plan, including a copy of their safety manual and the name of the on-site safety officer. • The project requires the vendor to provide all equipment, tools, materials, and labor necessary to complete the work. • The vendor must also provide storage and staging plans for all media shipments and ensure that all work is completed in accordance with industry standards and the contract documents.
