The North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA) Mexico Standard Grant program aims to promote partnerships between public agencies and groups interested in protecting, improving, restoring, and managing an appropriate distribution and diversity of wetland ecosystems and other habitats for wetlands-associated migratory birds and other fish and wildlife in North America. The program requires a 1:1 match and supports the Department of the Interior's mission of protecting and managing the nation's natural resources. Proposals should demonstrate how partner activities will encourage long-term conservation of migratory birds associated with wetlands. The program funds wetland conservation projects, including acquisition of properties containing wetland ecosystems and habitats, restoration, improvement, or management of wetland ecosystems and habitats, and technical assistance, education, and organizational capacity-building activities. The program has a funding range of $10,000 to $1,000,000.
