Description
The University of North Dakota State is seeking a qualified contractor to remove an existing wooden truss and install a new steel truss for the Niskanen 1805 canopy. The work includes structural modifications, painting, and provision of a temporary shelter during construction. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder and is a fixed‑price, “all‑or‑none” award.
• Remove existing wood truss and install new steel truss per the architectural and structural drawings.
• Paint the new steel truss white and match the adjacent wall brick for the truss‑structure wall.
• Provide a temporary roofed shelter so the main entry remains usable as an emergency exit during construction; preference for a one‑day truss replacement to avoid the shelter.
• Submit two paint‑system options (Alkyd Enamel and Acrylic Urethane) with pricing.
• Provide required insurance (CG/Liability $2 M per occurrence, Auto $2 M, Workers’ Comp) and acknowledge receipt of the amendment on the bid form.
