6515--Evacuation Chairs

The Northern Arizona VA Health Care System requires evacuation chairs to ensure safe and efficient vertical patient evacuation during emergencies. The contractor shall provide twenty (20) evacuation chairs with all necessary accessories and installation services. The chairs will be used for vertical evacuation and patient movement in multi-story facilities. Key requirements include: • Built-in stair tracks or a similar mechanism for safety and controlled stair descent • Robust wheels with omni-directed capability for easy transport • Foldable design for minimal space usage and quick deployment • Portable and lightweight (not exceeding 30 pounds) • Sturdy frame made of high-strength aluminum or similar durable material • Padded seat and backrest for patient comfort • Footrests, wall mounts, and covers for secure storage • Dual wheel locks and adjustable safety restraints for secure transport • Positive action locking mechanism for stability during use • Weight capacity of at least 500 lbs • Easy-to-use braking system and removable cushions for cleaning and disinfection
