Description

The City of Watsonville is seeking bids for the removal and replacement of the existing Poured-in-Place (PIP) rubber surface at Marinovich Park. The project includes removing and replacing all layers of the existing PIP rubber surfacing, including the base layer, top layer, and black buffing material. The replacement PIP material should be FlexGround EnduraFlex or an approved equal, and installed using Aliphatic Urethane. The project also includes ensuring a smooth transition between new and existing materials, as per original construction. The approximate area of the project is 1,380 sq. ft., and the depth is anticipated to be 3.5 inches, but should match the existing depth. • The project requires the contractor to angle-cut the buffings and surface material to create a shelf-like edge, ensuring a seamless transition between the new and existing materials. • The contractor should maintain all water, gas, and sewer lines, cable television, traffic signal, lighting, power, and telephone conduits, structures, house connection lines, and other surface or subsurface structures of any nature that may be affected by the work. • The contractor should ensure that the work is performed in conformance with the project plans and specifications, the City of Watsonville Public Improvement Standards, and the current revision of the State of California Department of Transportation Standard Specifications. • The contractor should also ensure that the work is performed in a manner that minimizes obstruction and inconvenience to public traffic, and that all necessary measures are taken to maintain public safety during construction.

Budget estimate

$60,000 – $80,000

The budget for this project can be estimated based on the scope of work and the materials required. The project involves the removal and replacement of 1,380 sq. ft. of PIP rubber surfacing, which would require a significant amount of labor and materials. Assuming an average cost of $50 per sq. ft. for the removal and replacement of PIP rubber surfacing, the total cost of the project would be approximately $69,000. However, this is just a rough estimate, and the actual cost of the project may vary depending on various factors such as the complexity of the project, the location, and the contractor's experience. The budget for this project could be in the range of $60,000 to $80,000.
