The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking feedback to inform the early design of an anticipated activity called the Regional Investigative Journalism Collaboration Project. This project aims to strengthen collaboration among investigative journalists across Southeast Asia. The project has three main objectives: localization and local leadership, engagement, amplification, and impact, and safety and security capacity. USAID is seeking input from potential implementing organizations, locally-based and regionally-oriented, international, and other development partners.
Some key aspects of the project include:
• Supporting locally-based and regionally-oriented newsrooms to lead networked, collaborative investigative journalism activities
• Bolstering editorial leadership in investigative newsrooms
• Providing coaching/mentoring leadership for investigative journalists
• Networking journalists to participate in regional and international forums
• Supporting access to newsroom tools and resources
• Engaging the broader public with investigative reports
• Ensuring safety and security capacity for investigative journalists and newsrooms
