General Contractor - Prequal for Pool & PE Improvements -- Foothill

The Foothill-De Anza Community College District is seeking a prequalified general contractor for the modernization of the Pool and Physical Education complex at Foothill College. The project includes the selective renovation and modernization of the pool and surrounding buildings, as well as the installation of new mechanical and electrical systems. The contractor will be required to have a valid California Licensed B General Building Contractor's license and meet other prequalification criteria. The project is funded by Measure G and is expected to last for 16 months. • The project includes the expansion of the existing pool to Olympic size and the construction of a new pool deck and surge tank. • The contractor will be required to install new underwater lighting and exterior site lighting. • The project also includes the replacement of mechanical and electrical systems in the main mechanical room and the installation of a new Automated Logic Corporation (ALC) Building Management System. • The contractor will be required to connect and integrate the building and pool heating systems to a low-temperature heat source from an adjacent heat pump plant. • The project includes the removal of existing concrete bleachers and the construction of new retaining walls. • The contractor will be required to apply brick veneer to new exterior concrete walls and improve accessibility and emergency egress throughout the complex. • The project also includes the renovation of four locker rooms and the conversion of an existing team room into an all-gender locker room. • The contractor will be required to upgrade fire suppression and HVAC systems and install new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. • The project includes the replacement and protective coatings of wood siding on Buildings 2500 and 2600 and the replacement of wood railings throughout the complex. • The contractor will be required to replace 11 or more exposed glulam beam tails on Building 2600 and apply protective coatings to all glulams and eaves on Buildings 2500 and 2600.
