The US Air Force Academy (USAFA) intends to award a sole source commercial contract for an Electron Nuclear Double Optical Resonance System (ENDOR). The system should have the following characteristics: operating frequency band of X band, arbitrary waveform generation, pulse timing resolution, broadband RF frequency range, RF power amplification, double resonance control, and software suite. The contract will be awarded to Bruker Biospin Corporation, as they are the only approved source for this system.
• The system must have an operating frequency band of X band.
• The system must have arbitrary waveform generation with at least 1.0 Gsamples/s, at least 2 GB onboard memory, at least 14 bit vertical resolution, at least 4 trigger outputs, external trigger input, and integrated pulse monitor.
• The system must have pulse timing resolution with timing resolution less than 15 ns, phase resolution less than 0.1 degrees, and frequency resolution better than 1.5 Hz.
• The system must have broadband RF frequency range of 0.1 to 100 MHz and RF power amplification of at least 150 W rf power.
• The system must have double resonance control with a dedicated digital controller capable of executing advanced multi-dimensional ENDOR sequences.
• The system must include automated software for tuning, pulse sequence programming, and 2D/3D data acquisition.
