Description

The Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) seeks qualified contractors to harden and flood‑protect Pump Station No. 2 in Miami‑Dade County. The work includes installing wind‑protective louvers, replacing doors and windows with flood‑ and wind‑resistant units, upgrading pump discharge check/control valves with redundant hydro‑pneumatic power, adding bypass ducting for a temporary odor‑control system, flood‑protecting electrical panels, replacing the cooling‑tower and exhaust fans with elevated, wind‑shielded equipment, and performing demolition, removal, and refurbishment of existing components. The project also calls for aesthetic improvements to the station. Bids must be submitted electronically through the eBuilder portal with a hard‑copy copy mailed to the Water and Sewer Department (WASD) within one business day after the electronic submission.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $5,000,000

The solicitation does not disclose a contract value. Typical HMGP pump‑station upgrades for a county of Miami‑Dade’s size range from $1 million to $5 million, depending on the extent of structural hardening, mechanical system replacement, and aesthetic work. Assuming mid‑range material and labor costs for the described scope (louvers, doors/windows, valve redundancy, odor‑control bypass, HVAC replacement, demolition, and site finishing), a reasonable estimate would be between $1.2 million and $4.8 million. Factors influencing the final amount include exact material specifications, site‑access constraints, and any unforeseen utility relocations.
