Safe Haven Baby Box Grant (SHBBG)

• Grant program provides 50% cost-sharing funding for installation of Safe Haven Baby Boxes in Arkansas facilities • Eligible Organizations: - City/County Hospitals with emergency rooms - Law Enforcement Agencies - Fire Departments (including volunteer departments) • Project Requirements: - Baby box must be installed on structural wall or inside eligible facility - Must be in conspicuous location visible to facility employees - Must meet requirements of A.C.A. § 9-34-202 - Device allows safe surrender of infants 30 days old or younger • Scope of Work: - Implementation of safety device/baby box system - Installation in qualified location - Must be accessible to medical providers, law enforcement, or fire department staff • Grant covers up to 50% of total implementation costs • Legal Authority: Arkansas Code Ann. §§ 9-34-202 and 203
