The Bethel School District 52 is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide student transportation services, including home-to-school transportation, individualized transportation, and trips. The contract period is expected to begin on July 1, 2026, with an initial five-year term. The successful proposer will provide necessary leadership, coordination, and cooperation to ensure that student transportation services are responsive to the needs of the District and are consistent with District policies, state requirements, and all other applicable laws and regulations.
• The District serves approximately 5,000 students in northwest Eugene, Oregon.
• The student population has been declining over the last several years, with the latest numbers stabilizing at about 90 students less than the prior year.
• The District has an in-house transportation program that serves special education students, students in foster care placed with out-of-district caregivers, and students experiencing homelessness who are currently located outside of the District’s bus routes.
• The District plans to continue in-house services for special education students but would be interested in proposals that include an option for transportation services for foster and McKinney Vento students.
