ANNOUNCEMENT - Advanced Notice of Upcoming RFA - Respite-Based Service Learning Program

The University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School (UMass Chan) is seeking applications from public colleges and universities within Massachusetts to implement the Respite-Based Service Learning Program for Massachusetts Public Colleges. The program aims to provide respite care to families raising children or adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities through a service-learning course. The selected colleges and/or universities will receive a portion of the $125,000 grant funds to implement the program at their respective campuses in the Spring 2027 academic term. • The program will establish and deliver the Respite-Based Service Learning Program for Massachusetts Public Colleges as a credit-bearing service-learning course • The program will recruit and train students to provide high-quality respite care for families of individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities • The program will engage families in the program through outreach and partnerships with local organizations • The program will evaluate the Respite-Based Service Learning Program for Massachusetts Public Colleges outcomes for students and families
