Conduit Boring and Fiber Pulling

The City of Champaign is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced companies for boring services to install conduit and fiber from existing handholes to the City’s building at 201 west University Avenue. The project includes three proposed routes, and vendors should propose a cost for boring conduit and pulling fiber for each route individually. The city desires to have the conduit in place and the fiber pulled by December 12, 2025. • The vendor will provide boring services and install 2” conduit from handholes to the building at 201 W University Ave. • The vendor will provide 12 strand single mode fiber sufficient to cover the chosen routes from the handholes to the building at 201 W University Ave. • The vendor will pull the fiber through the installed conduits. • The vendor will not be responsible for terminating the fiber. • City staff will escort vendor staff to all city facilities as necessary. • The project includes a utilization goal of 10% MBE participation and 5% WBE participation. • The project also includes a workforce participation goal of 20% minority employee participation and 15% female employee participation.
