Intent to Sole Source-Industrial Launderers for Red Lake Hospital

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Indian Health Service (IHS) intends to award a Firm Fixed Priced Contract on a sole source basis to the Red Lake Tribal Council for industrial laundry services for the Red Lake Hospital. The contract will be for a base period plus 4 option years. The Red Lake Tribal Council is the only responsible source capable of providing the required healthcare-grade laundry services within the immediate geographic area of Red Lake, Minnesota. • The contract value is estimated to be $560,000. • The contract will be for a period of 5 years, including the base period and 4 option years. • The Red Lake Tribal Council has provided laundry services to the hospital for over 30 years. • The hospital does not have the equipment or staffing to perform the required laundry services. • The contract will be awarded under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.501(a) - only one source reasonably available.
