Description
The National Weather Service (NWS) is seeking a contractor to remove and replace the existing standing seam metal roof at the Weather Forecast Office (WFO) in Melbourne, FL. The new roof must be able to withstand a Category 5 hurricane. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for the removal and installation of the new metal roof. The project must be completed within 60 days from the date of award, and the contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Some key requirements of the project include:
• Removing the existing metal roof panels and replacing them with new metal roof panels
• Installing a new moisture barrier and 4” downspouts
• Providing a two-year workmanship warranty and a 20-year material and labor warranty
• Complying with all applicable safety regulations and guidelines
• Obtaining all necessary licenses, permits, and fees
• Restoring the work site to its original condition after completion of the project
