Noxious Weed Removal

The City of Wheat Ridge is seeking a qualified firm to provide herbicide application services in non-turf areas. The services include chemical weed control and manual removal of maturing seed heads. The contract term is for one year with the option to renew for four additional one-year periods. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, and operating supplies, including herbicides. The city has approximately 72 infested acres of noxious weeds located within its Open Space land, and the contractor will be required to treat these areas three times annually. The city also has 14.65 acres of native or non-irrigated parkland that require treatment. The contractor must have a minimum of one year of experience in weed control and be licensed by the State of Colorado. • The contractor will be required to provide a detailed statement of fees, including individual rates for partners and support staff. • The contractor must have a minimum of $1 million in general liability insurance and $2 million in aggregate insurance. • The contractor must comply with all applicable state and federal laws, including the Keep Jobs in Colorado Act. • The contractor must provide a statement agreeing to provide and maintain insurance per the RFP requirements, if awarded. • The contractor must disclose any relationships that could be construed or perceived as personal or organizational conflicts of interest.
