Description

The Des Moines Independent Community School District is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide a comprehensive, high-quality, web-based Physical Education (PE) curriculum for use across elementary, middle, and high schools beginning in Fall 2026. The selected vendor will provide curriculum materials, platform access, and related services that support consistent, standards-aligned physical education instruction for students in grades K–12. The curriculum must be suitable for district-wide implementation and support instruction by approximately 18 high school teachers, 21 middle school teachers, and 29 elementary teachers serving diverse student populations across multiple school sites. • The curriculum should be aligned to the 2024 SHAPE standards and the Iowa Core standards. • The solution should be scalable and capable of supporting large student enrollments at each grade span. • The vendor shall provide a web-based delivery model accessible to teachers and students. • The vendor shall provide digital instructional resources and guided activities designed for student use. • The vendor shall provide functionality that supports instructional planning, lesson delivery, and ongoing use throughout the school year. • The vendor shall provide data collection and reporting features accessible to educators and, where appropriate, students.

Budget estimate

$10,000 – $50,000

The budget for this contract is estimated to be around $10,000, as mentioned in the Implementing Budget section of the RFP. However, this amount may not be the total contract value, but rather an initial investment for implementation. The actual budget could be higher, considering the contract term and potential renewals. The contract term is for one year, with the option to renew for four additional one-year periods, which could lead to a total budget of $50,000 or more, depending on the annual costs and any potential price increases. The vendor's pricing structure, as well as any additional services or support required, could also influence the total budget.
