Description
The Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) is seeking a qualified Construction Manager as Constructor (CMc) to provide pre‑construction and construction‑management services for major renovation and addition projects at Union High School (including its auditorium), Harrison Park Academy, and Campus Elementary. The scope covers program development, design coordination, cost estimating, schedule control, site safety, demolition, historic preservation, environmental remediation, and final punch‑list completion. The CMc will work closely with a retained Professional Services Contractor (PSC) and must be able to staff a multidisciplinary team, manage multiple phases over a three‑year horizon, and comply with local‑vendor preferences and bonding requirements. The selection follows a qualification‑based process with a mandatory submission of technical qualifications and a fee proposal, followed by interviews and a final award in December 2026.
• Projects: Union HS (≈ $5.3 M construction budget), Union HS Auditorium (≈ $2.07 M), Harrison Park Academy (≈ $7.55 M), Campus Elementary (≈ $8.37 M).
• Services: Pre‑construction planning, cost control, schedule development, constructability review, coordination with architects/engineers, site safety, local‑vendor participation, bonding (100 % of GMP).
• Timeline: RFQ issued Oct 2 2026, questions due Oct 22 2026, submissions due Oct 22 2026, short‑list by Nov 5 2026, interviews Nov 13 2026, award Dec 17 2026; construction phases run summer 2027‑2029.
