RFP 27-22/AB ON-SITE HEAVY EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN

The City of Hampton is seeking qualified firms to provide an on‑site heavy‑equipment technician who will perform maintenance and repair services for specialized fleet equipment. The contractor will be embedded within the Fleet Services Division, responding to scheduled and emergency service calls, maintaining equipment uptime, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. This is a sole‑site, on‑call role that requires certified heavy‑equipment expertise and the ability to manage parts inventory and documentation. • Provide preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for a variety of heavy‑equipment (e.g., backhoes, loaders, dump trucks). • Respond to emergency breakdowns, minimizing downtime for municipal operations. • Maintain service records, parts logs, and ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal safety regulations. • Coordinate with City procurement for parts procurement and warranty processing. • Must have certified heavy‑equipment technician credentials and experience with municipal fleets.
