Description
Missoula County is seeking a qualified firm to conduct a comprehensive fire‑needs assessment for the Wye Targeted Economic Development Districts, covering current capacity, projected growth, infrastructure, staffing, apparatus, and funding strategies. The study must deliver a phased implementation plan and a reusable reevaluation process, with work to be completed no later than December 31 2027.
• Review existing fire‑protection resources in the Missoula Rural Fire District and Frenchtown Rural Fire District.
• Model future residential, commercial, and industrial development impacts on fire‑service demand over 20‑50‑year horizons.
• Recommend additional stations, equipment, staffing levels, and financing mechanisms (including Tax Increment Financing and grant options).
• Produce a phased implementation schedule aligned with development timelines and a process for periodic reassessment.
