Description
The City of Newton is soliciting proposals from General Contractors with RRP certification for a home rehabilitation project located at N. Rankin Avenue, Newton. The project consists of various tasks such as tree removal, exterior girder replacement, guttering, window installation, electrical upgrades, plumbing work, HVAC work, floor covering, interior painting, and other carpentry work. The contractor must be licensed, use licensed subcontractors, and be NC RRP lead certified. The bids will most likely exceed $40,000 and could go up to $72,000 or more.
• The City of Newton has received a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Scattered Site Housing Project to rehabilitate homes.
• The contractor will need to work with the Lead Abatement Contractor for window installation.
• The City of Newton encourages small and minority owned businesses to bid on their projects.
• The contractor will be responsible for making arrangements with the homeowner to visit the site to submit a bid.
