Description

The City of West Sacramento is soliciting proposals from qualified firms or individuals to provide consultant services for the US 50/BUS 80 Community Connectivity Project. The project aims to conduct planning studies and conceptual designs to explore the obsolete decommissioned freeway structures on Cabaldon Parkway and Jefferson Boulevard and design alternatives for local use. The project also includes incorporating complete street elements and proposed local roadways to connect communities, facilitating truck and bus movements, and complementing City plans and projects. The selected consultant will be responsible for providing full-service task management, scheduling, and meeting coordination with Caltrans and other agencies. The project is expected to last for 24 months. Key tasks include stakeholder and community engagement, project initiation document development, and infill and transit-oriented development feasibility analysis. • Conducting a community assessment to identify the target community and determine appropriate engagement strategies • Developing a Community Participation Plan (CPC) to guide stakeholder and community engagement • Creating a project website and distributing outreach materials • Conducting traffic operations and safety analyses • Developing a Project Initiation Document (PID) per Caltrans requirements • Providing feasibility recommendations to encourage development outcomes that align with the City’s long-term housing, mobility, and climate goals
