The Department of Labor and Workforce Development is seeking a contractor to update the 2018 Alaska Liquefied Natural Gas Pipeline Project (AK LNG) Workforce Plan. The plan will analyze workforce demand for the Alaska LNG project and other major capital projects statewide, assess Alaska's current training capacity, and recommend strategies to scale that capacity to meet near and short-term needs. The contractor will be required to provide a revised job demand forecast, occupational forecasts, a detailed capacity map of Alaska training providers, a statewide gap analysis, and a final report with recommendations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Update job demand forecasts for the Alaska LNG project
• Add comparative forecasts for at least three to five additional major infrastructure or energy projects
• Map training providers' capacity using enrollment and completion data
• Conduct a gap analysis between forecasted labor needs and current training capacity
• Survey all Alaska training providers to identify barriers to scaling programs
• Recommend investment strategies to increase or double capacity in priority occupations
