Description

The Veterans Point Trail Rehabilitation Project involves the rehabilitation of a 2,959-foot-long asphalt trail with metal railing and timber retaining walls. The project includes filling and sealing cracks, reconstructing select sections, stabilizing eroding areas, and applying a seal coat to the asphalt. The contractor will also remove and reconstruct timber retaining walls with segmental concrete block retaining walls, repair damaged pipe railing, and eliminate unnecessary sections of railing. Additionally, the project includes constructing reinforcement with gabion (wire rock baskets) to repair eroded sections at the trail's edge and bridge abutments. The contractor must be aware of the steep slopes and limited working area. Key aspects of the project include: • Trail rehabilitation and reconstruction • Retaining wall removal and reconstruction • Railing repair and elimination • Gabion construction for erosion repair • Site visit and pre-bid meeting scheduled for January 6, 2026 • Responses due by January 14, 2026 • Total small business set-aside • Anticipated project magnitude: $250,000 to $500,000
