Engineering Services for Downtown Intersections

The City of Peekskill is seeking a consultant to provide engineering services for the improvement of crosswalks at four downtown intersections. The project includes the preparation of construction documents, bidding assistance, and construction inspection. The selected consultant will be responsible for surveying each intersection, determining any additional work needed to mitigate safety concerns and/or ADA-noncompliance, and making one presentation to the Common Council upon 90% completion of construction documents. Key aspects of the project include: • Stamped pigmented concrete crosswalks with striping • New Traffic & Pedestrian Signal Systems • ADA curb ramps • New pavement at intersections and approaches • The project is expected to be completed within 12 months • The estimated construction budget is $1.2M • The City has obtained a $200,000 CDBG Grant to fund a portion of this work
