Description
The Town of Benson, NC is seeking qualified, NC‑licensed engineering firms to provide full‑service design and construction‑administration for a new 750,000‑gallon elevated water storage tank and an associated 12‑inch water main extending east of I‑95. The scope includes preliminary routing, detailed structural design, permitting, cost estimating, bid preparation, construction observation, and project close‑out. Firms must submit a 20‑page Statement of Qualifications by September 21, 2026, and will be evaluated on technical competence, personnel experience, project approach, past performance, and local knowledge. The selected firm will begin contract execution on November 12, 2026, with award expected October 22, 2026.
• Design of a 750,000‑gallon elevated storage tank (foundations, structural, electrical, pipe tie‑ins)
• Design of a 12‑inch water main from tank to east side of town (future growth)
• Required surveys (easement, topographic, engineering) and permitting assistance
• Preparation of bid documents, cost estimates, and construction contracts
• Construction administration, observation, payment and change‑order review, and final close‑out documentation
• Submission of hourly rate schedule, insurance certificates, and a detailed project schedule
