THE SAAD K’IDILYE DINE LANGUAGE IMMERSION PROJECT – PROVIDE A STRUCTURED AND HIGH QUALITY LANGUAGE IMMERSION LEARNING ENVIRONMENT THAT PRIORITIZES DINÉ KNOWLEDGE AND CULTURAL PRACTICES
The State of New Mexico, through its Public Education Department, is awarding a sole‑source contract to Saad K’idilyé to operate a Diné (Navajo) language‑immersion early‑childhood program that serves prenatal‑to‑age‑3 children and their families in Albuquerque. The effort combines licensed early‑childhood care with full‑time Diné language instruction, cultural mentorship, and a pathway to Native American Language & Culture licensure. The contractor will deliver approximately 1,500 hours of language and cultural instruction annually and manage a caretaker‑apprentice model that blends on‑site immersion with home‑based tools. The contract runs for 12 months, with a total value of roughly $123 k (pre‑tax).
