The National Park Service intends to award a single-source justified cooperative agreement to the National Park Trust for the Buddy Bison School and Kids to Parks Day Programs. The goal of the agreement is to provide educational and outdoor recreational activities in national parks to students in grades K-12. The programs will be achieved through the expansion of the Buddy Bison program and the Kids to Parks Day National School Contest, which provide outdoor educational and recreational activities to youth from underserved and low socio-economic schools and communities.
• The National Park Trust will contact and cultivate 20 new or re-engaged Buddy Bison schools and plan, fund, and implement on-site programs for Buddy Bison programs with 80 existing Buddy Bison schools.
• The National Park Trust will collaborate with staff at targeted NPS sites to plan and implement Buddy Bison programs with selected schools.
• The National Park Service will consult and collaborate with the National Park Trust in selecting NPS units to host events and programs, and provide NPS subject matter experts to assist the National Park Trust in planning and executing outdoor educational and recreational activities.
