Description
The purpose of this grant is to establish a National Center on Academic Interventions to support the implementation of evidence-based literacy and mathematics instruction for students with disabilities. The center will provide technical assistance, model demonstration projects, and disseminate useful information to improve outcomes for children with disabilities. The grant will focus on systems and practices that directly support educators' implementation of evidence-based instruction. Key aspects of the grant include:
• Increased capacity of SEAs and LEAs to implement State-level policies and systems that promote evidence-based instruction
• Increased capacity of educators to identify, implement, and sustain evidence-based instruction
• Improved LEA and school implementation infrastructures, including training and professional development for educators
• Increased capacity of educator preparation programs to establish partnerships with SEAs and LEAs and improve preservice preparation
• Development of products and services that are of high quality and sufficient intensity and duration to achieve intended outcomes
The grant will be awarded for a period of up to 60 months, with a maximum award of $3,700,000.
