Description

Herbicide treatment (and hand pulling when possible) of non-native invasive species as well as aggressive native species over 110 acres in the spring and early summer of 2026. About 100 acres of the total was mowed with a drum mulcher in January-February 2026; these areas are primarily open and should be easy to traverse. The use of ATV or UTV mounted sprayers is permissible. The remaining 10 acres is denser and in proximity to wetlands; only aquatic formulations of glyphosate or triclopyr products are permitted and cut-stem/cut-stump must be prioritized over foliar applications. These 10 acres must be traversed on foot. Target invasive species include Japanese barberry, Asiatic bittersweet, shrub honeysuckle, burning bush, privet, and black locust. Additional invasive species encountered should be brought to the attention of the Project Manager and will likely also require treatment. Additionally, native, aggressive species including aspen, grapevine and brambles (Rubus spp.) will require removal/treatment. Start date is estimated to be 15 April 2026 but contractor must work the Project Manager to adjust this date in the event of early warming (early leaf out) or late season frost (late leaf-out). All prospective bidders are encouraged to attend a site visit on 2 March 2026 at 9:30 AM, the area is 2 miles from entrance and inaccessible due to the snow; we will instead visit a similar area near the parking lot. Questions due by March 12th 2026. Business enterprises awarded an identical or substantially similar procurement contract within the past five years: A&D Contracting Lardon Construction

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $200,000

The budget for this opportunity is estimated to be between $50,000 and $200,000. This estimation is based on the scope of work, which includes herbicide treatment and hand pulling of invasive species on 110 acres of land. The cost of equipment, labor, and materials will likely be significant, but the exact amount will depend on the contractor's approach and the specific requirements of the project. Factors that may influence the budget include the complexity of the project, the level of expertise required, and the availability of resources.
