Description

The Palmetto Conservation Foundation seeks a qualified contractor to develop a new gravel parking lot with an optional concrete sidewalk at the Broad River Conservation & Education Preserve. The scope includes site grading, installation of a gravel surface, construction of concrete sidewalks (if selected), and full implementation of sediment and erosion control measures in compliance with Fairfield County permits. The project follows a Design‑Bid‑Build delivery method and requires coordination with the agency’s project coordinator. • Install a gravel‑based parking lot (size and layout to be defined in bid documents) • Provide an alternate option for concrete sidewalk construction • Perform grading, drainage, and erosion control as per county regulations • Submit all required documentation and permits for project approval

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

Based on typical regional construction rates for gravel parking lots (approximately $5‑$10 per square foot) and concrete sidewalks (around $8‑$12 per square foot), plus grading, erosion control, and permitting, the total contract value is likely to fall between $200,000 and $500,000. Larger lot sizes or extensive erosion‑control measures could push the upper bound higher, while a smaller footprint or a purely gravel solution could keep costs near the lower estimate.
