Description
The City of Arcata is seeking bids for the Alliance Intertie Electrical System Replacement, Re-roof and Solar Project. The project involves the de-commissioning of an existing electrical service and installation of a new electrical system, LED lighting upgrades, and a new solar array and battery energy storage system. The project also includes asbestos abatement, electrical equipment demolition, and replacement of the existing gutters, downspouts, and composite shingle roof. The successful bidder will be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the contract price. The project must be completed within 45 working days from the start date set forth in the Notice to Proceed.
• The project requires a valid California contractor’s license for the following classifications: B (General Building) and combination of licenses required to complete the project such as C-10 (Electrical), C-39 (Roofing), and C-46 (Solar).
• The City may not accept a bid proposal from or enter into a contract with a bidder without proof that the bidder is registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) to perform public work.
• The contract will be subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the DIR under Labor Code § 1771.4.
• The successful bidder will be required to pay prevailing wages to all workers employed to work on the project.
