SmartTots (Strategies for Mitigating Anesthesia-Related neuroToxicity in Tots) Public-Private Partnership

The SmartTots Public-Private Partnership aims to address the critical public health issues associated with the safe use of anesthetic agents and sedatives in young children. The objective of this cooperative agreement is to continue bridging the knowledge gaps, elucidating the risks related to the use of anesthetic and sedative agents in children, and developing strategies for optimizing brain health in children who require anesthesia and sedation care. • The partnership will focus on research and development to improve the safety of anesthetic and sedation agents in children. • The opportunity is open to various types of organizations, including independent school districts, small businesses, public and state-controlled institutions of higher education, and nonprofits. • The award will be in the form of a cooperative agreement. • The project will be funded by the Food and Drug Administration.
