NEWRF Filter Station - Partial Filter Media Replacement

The City of St. Petersburg is seeking bids from a qualified vendor to perform a partial filter media replacement at the Northeast Water Reclamation Facility (NEWRF). The project consists of removing, disposing, and replacing the top four layers of filter media within the existing filter beds. The vendor will be responsible for furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, and supervision necessary to complete the project in a manner that maintains the integrity of the existing structure and minimizes operational disruption. The key aspects of the job include: • Removing and disposing of approximately 30 inches of anthracite coal, 10 inches of filter sand, 2 inches of ¼” x ⅛” gravel, and 4 inches of ⅛” x 16 mesh • Furnishing and installing new materials in the same configuration as removed • Ensuring materials are free of contaminants and packaged as specified in MBM-S-100 • Coordinating all work to minimize operational disruption • Submitting all certifications, sieve analyses, and QA/QC documentation per MBM-S-100 prior to shipment and installation
