Description

The Town of Riverdale Park is seeking a contractor to provide an automated stop sign enforcement camera system. The system should capture clear images and video of violations under various lighting and weather conditions, operate reliably, and be installed in a manner that does not interfere with pedestrians or vehicles. The contractor will be responsible for identifying initial enforcement locations, conducting baseline violation counts, and providing a secure online portal for the Police Department to review and approve violations. The contractor will also manage citation processing, provide training to Town staff, and maintain all system equipment. The program must operate under a cost-neutral structure, with all program components covered through a revenue-sharing model. • The contractor will provide equipment that is compact in design and suitable for installation on sidewalks or easements without obstructing pedestrians, vehicles, or parking areas. • The contractor will provide routine reporting, including violation summaries, system uptime, maintenance activity, and performance metrics. • The contractor will comply with all State requirements related to automated enforcement, including secure handling, storage, and deletion of images. • The contractor will maintain all system equipment and respond to service issues within 72 hours.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

The budget for this project is likely to be in the range of $200,000 to $500,000, based on the scope of work and the requirements for the automated stop sign enforcement camera system. The cost-neutral structure of the program, where all program components are covered through a revenue-sharing model, suggests that the contractor will be responsible for absorbing the upfront costs of the system and recouping them through revenue generated by citations. The Town's budget for this project is not explicitly stated, but based on industry benchmarks, a budget in this range is plausible. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the number of enforcement locations, the type and quality of equipment provided, and the revenue generated by citations.
