Description
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) is hosting an in-person Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Industry Day to provide vendors with insight into its ongoing IT modernization initiatives. The event will cover MES enhancements, enterprise architecture, data and analytics platforms, and strategic technology integration. Vendors are expected to demonstrate expertise in legacy MES platforms, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)/Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) environments, and cloud-native services. The scope of work includes advancing enterprise data governance, establishing an AI governance and implementation program, and enhancing horizontal and vertical connectivity across BEP and its extended enterprise. Key areas of focus also include improving alignment between financial and government reporting and supporting the transition to on-demand, cloud-hosted application ecosystems.
Some of the key subtasks from the PWS include:
• Enterprise IT Program Management Office: Align IT initiatives with strategic goals, optimize resource allocation, and improve performance tracking.
• Enterprise Architecture: Develop frameworks that integrate emerging technologies and optimize existing systems.
• Knowledge Management: Implement a dual-track model (Discovery and Delivery) to capture and apply critical insights.
• Enterprise Data & Performance Management: Establish governance, quality standards, and integration pipelines.
• Data Analytics & Visualization: Deliver scalable platforms and interactive dashboards for informed decision-making.
• Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Emerging Technologies: Integrate AI responsibly to enhance efficiency and innovation, aligned with OMB M-25-21.
• Manufacturing IT Enablement: Support integration of 33 new presses and Industry 4.0 technologies including automation, Internet of Things (IoT), and analytics.
• Financial Systems Modernization: Enhance budgeting, accounting, asset management, and procurement platforms.
• Business Applications: Design and deploy scalable, user-friendly applications aligned with strategic objectives.
• Quality & Supply Chain IT Enablement: Implement ISO 9001-aligned quality systems and optimize logistics, planning, and risk management.
