Description
The Iowa Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is seeking professional design services for a complete tear-off and roof replacement for the Infirmary building at the Independence Mental Health Institute. The scope of work includes reviewing existing gutters and downspouts, replacing asphalt shingles and EPDM flat roof portions, and providing design services for construction. The successful firm will be required to provide a lump sum price for the base scope of work, including all reimbursables, and will be responsible for construction administration, including site visits and closeout documentation. The project is expected to commence in May 2026 and be completed by July 2027. Key considerations for the project include:
• Experience with similar projects, particularly those involving roof replacements and design services for construction
• Ability to provide a comprehensive design package, including construction documents and cost opinions
• Capacity to provide construction administration services, including site visits and closeout documentation
• Ability to work with the State's construction management software program
• Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local codes and regulations
