Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide waste disposal and recycling services for the VAMC ME Healthcare System. The contractor will be responsible for allocating equipment and personnel to meet the requirements for the comprehensive management of the solid waste and recycling programs. The contractor will also be required to develop and submit a recycling plan to help the VA manage waste in the most efficient, economical, and best way possible to obtain a 55% or greater recycling rate.
• The contractor will provide solid waste disposal services and recycling services, including single stream recycling, scrap metal, scrap wood, pallets, construction and demolition debris, and more.
• The contractor will be required to provide dumpsters and remove waste/recycling per the proposed schedule and dispose of it in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• The contractor will also be required to provide training and educational materials for applicable waste streams to ensure compliance and facilitate an effective waste diversion program.
