Description

The Colorado Department of Natural Resources, Division of Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), is seeking a comprehensive database solution to effectively organize, manage, and store data and information associated with diagnosing, monitoring, and researching diseases in wildlife across Colorado. The solution should be a modernized, unified, and comprehensive data management system that allows for storing and organizing large amounts of data, complex querying, sophisticated analysis, and reporting on wildlife health data. The selected vendor will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and deploying the Wildlife Health Lab Information Database, including front-end development, migration of content and assets, user experience design, and quality assurance testing. • The database should be able to handle users of multiple roles and levels of permission in a distributed environment. • The system architecture design should be scalable and secure. • The vendor should have experience in building government or other enterprise-level systems and understanding of how the requirements of a government system differ from those of other enterprises. • The vendor should provide a thirty-one (31) day contingency period post-launch for any questions, issues, or bugs that may arise, and then work with CPW on a monthly firm fix price invoicing of 50 hours per month at an hourly rate agreed upon by the vendor and CPW.

Budget estimate

$250,000 – $600,000

The budget for this project can be estimated based on the scope of work and the requirements for the database solution. The vendor will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and deploying the Wildlife Health Lab Information Database, which may involve significant upfront costs. However, the contract will also require continued assessment, enhancement, and maintenance after the initial implementation, which may provide ongoing revenue streams for the vendor. Assuming the project will require a team of experienced developers, designers, and project managers, the total cost for the initial implementation could be in the range of $200,000 to $500,000, depending on the complexity of the system and the number of personnel involved. The ongoing monthly support and maintenance costs could be in the range of $5,000 to $10,000 per month, depending on the scope of work and the hourly rate agreed upon by the vendor and CPW. Therefore, the total budget for this project could be in the range of $250,000 to $600,000 in the first year, with ongoing annual costs of $60,000 to $120,000 for support and maintenance.
