Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Vicksburg District, is conducting market research to determine the availability of a hydraulic-cutterhead dredge for potential riverine dredging of the Mississippi River Harbors and/or lock approaches of the JBJ Waterway. The dredge must be equipped with suitable pump impellers and cutters to efficiently handle materials such as sand, gravel, loose rock, silt, mud, and clay. Interested contractors should submit their responses, including a brief history of the company, experience in delivering similar services, and information about their bonding capability. Some key points to consider: • The dredge must be at least 18 inches in diameter. • The contractor must furnish all plant, labor, materials, and equipment necessary for performing construction and maintenance dredging. • The material to be dredged will consist of various materials, including sand, gravel, and clay. • The dredge should be available immediately, and contractors should have adequate bonding capability to bid the work. • Responses should be submitted as a single PDF document via email to the primary point of contact.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $10,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide a specific amount. However, considering the scope of the project, which includes dredging of the Mississippi River Harbors and the JBJ Waterway, the budget could be substantial. The NAICS code 237990 has a size standard of $37 million, which suggests that the budget could be in the range of millions of dollars. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the size and complexity of the project, the number of contractors bidding, and the availability of funding. Based on these factors, a rough estimate of the budget could be between $1 million and $10 million.
