DX To CHW Conversion – Student Center Library Building

Glendale Community College District is seeking a qualified contractor to convert the existing Direct‑Expansion cooling system on three multi‑zone air‑handling units in the Student Center Library Building to a chilled‑water system. The work includes demolition of DX equipment, design and fabrication of AHRI‑certified chilled‑water coils, installation of CHW piping and associated valves, integration with the existing Distech Building Automation System, testing, start‑up, commissioning, and full documentation. The contractor must also provide warranties, training, and compliance with California labor, EPA refrigerant, and safety regulations. • Demolition of existing DX coils, compressors, and refrigerant piping with EPA 608‑compliant refrigerant recovery. • Supply, fabricate, and install AHRI‑certified chilled‑water coils, hydronic piping, valves, and related controls. • Integrate new Distech BAS controllers, program CO₂‑based demand‑control ventilation, and complete TAB and functional testing. • Deliver shop drawings, product data, as‑built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, and provide at‑least four hours of training per AHU group. • Comply with prevailing‑wage requirements, provide performance and payment bonds, and maintain required insurance limits.
