Description
The Texas Racing Commission (TXRC) is seeking Stewards in Training to perform services within the State of Texas. The selected contractor will provide Steward in Training services at TXRC licensed horse racetracks, including Gillespie County Fair, Retama Race Park, Lone Star Park, and Sam Houston Race Park. The contractor will work under the supervision of the Chief Steward and follow agency policies and procedures. The hourly rate will be $55/hour for 2 or more days worked in a row and $40/hour for a single day. The contract will not exceed $75,000 per fiscal year.
• The contractor will be required to maintain any necessary certifications or licenses throughout the term of the contract.
• The contractor will be required to complete a cybersecurity training program certified under Texas Government Code Section 2054.519.
• The contractor will be required to read, acknowledge, and sign the I.T. policy and Data Use Agreement.
• The contractor will be liable for any intentional or negligent loss, destruction, or damage to Agency or State of Texas property.
• The contractor will be required to submit a fully filled-out time sheet and expense voucher for all work hours.
