Description

The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking a qualified consulting firm to design and engineer a stormwater diversion system within the Ventura County portion of the Upper Malibu Creek Watershed. The objective of this project is to divert the dry weather stormwater flow to the nearby downstream sewer system and convey it to the Tapia Water Reclamation Facility (TWRF) for treatment. The selected consultant will be responsible for performing professional engineering services, including tasks such as preliminary investigation, project scoping workshop, project plans, specs, and estimated costs of construction, and construction support services. Key aspects of the project include: • Designing a stormwater diversion structure at Ocho Rios/Bayport Way • Redirecting dry weather flows from the storm drain system to the downstream sanitary sewer system • Reducing bacteria and nutrient concentrations (TMDLs) discharged into the Malibu Creek Watershed • Coordinating with the City, County, Las Virgenes, and Triunfo to provide a new source of recycled and indirect potable reuse The City is looking for a consultant with experience in similar projects, a strong understanding of the project requirements, and the ability to work collaboratively with the City and other stakeholders.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this project is estimated to be in the range of $500,000 to $2,000,000, based on the scope of work and the typical costs associated with similar engineering and design projects. The factors that may influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the design, the number of stakeholders involved, and the need for coordination with multiple agencies. The City's budget for the project is not explicitly stated, but the estimated cost of the project will likely be a key factor in the selection of the consultant.
