POOL SAFELY GRANT PROGRAM (PSGP) 2026

The Pool Safely Grant Program (PSGP) aims to prevent drowning and drain entrapments of children in pools and spas by providing funding to state and local governments. The funding supports drowning prevention education and enforcement of pool safety regulations. Applicants can propose activities consistent with the authorized activities listed under the PSGP, including hiring and training enforcement personnel and educating pool owners, pool operators, and other members of the public about pool safety standards and prevention of drowning or entrapment of children. • The PSGP funding opportunity is designed to assist state and local governments in implementing enforcement and education programs. • Funding is to be used for specific activities, including hiring and training enforcement personnel and educating pool owners and operators about pool safety standards. • At least 25 percent of funding must be used for hiring and training enforcement personnel. • The remaining funds can be used for education activities, such as training lifeguards and educating the public about pool safety. • Applicants can propose activities consistent with the authorized activities listed under the PSGP. • The PSGP funding opportunity is available to state and local governments, as well as Indian Tribes, as defined in the VGB Act.
