The City of Wilmington is seeking a qualified contractor to remove eleven (11) trees and/or stumps located in the public right‑of‑way along South 3rd Street and to perform associated site restoration. The work includes complete tree removal, stump grinding to a minimum depth, back‑filling and compaction, utility protection, traffic control (funded by NCDOT), daily debris removal, and post‑completion reporting. The contractor must complete all tasks within 60 days of contract start and must provide all labor, equipment, insurance, and disposal at a firm price per item.
• Remove each tree in its entirety (roots, limbs, foliage) and grind stumps to 24 inches depth or to full removal.
• Back‑fill grinding holes with generated material, compact to ~3 inches above grade, and supply any additional fill at no extra cost.
• Coordinate with NC 811 and City Traffic Engineering for utility location and protection; all utility‑damage liability rests with the contractor.
• Provide OSHA‑compliant safety measures, traffic control (costs excluded from proposal), and daily debris disposal.
• Submit weekly progress reports; final payment only after City inspection and acceptance of all work.
