Description

The Navy is seeking 40 units of a thermal imaging system (NSN 7H‑5855‑014991240). The Government does not own the data or rights needed to procure or repair the part, making it uneconomical to obtain or reverse‑engineer. All firms must include their CAGE code on solicitations. Interested parties may retrieve related specifications via DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) and the ASSIST‑Online portal, though certain drawings and purchase descriptions are not stocked. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals, but the Government will consider any proposals received within 45 days (30 days if awarded under an existing BOA). The contract will be awarded under FAR 6.302‑1 (sole‑source authority).

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

The contract calls for 40 thermal imaging units. Assuming an average unit cost between $5,000 and $12,500 (typical for mid‑range military‑grade thermal imagers), total contract value could range from roughly $200,000 to $500,000. Additional costs may arise from data‑rights handling, engineering support, and logistics, potentially pushing the high end higher.
