RFP 26-016 City of Kennewick Prosecution Services

The City of Kennewick is seeking proposals from qualified law firms to provide municipal prosecution services. The selected firm will represent the City in prosecuting misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor criminal cases in Benton County District Court and related appeals. The contract will be for an initial two-year term beginning on or before January 1, 2027, with an option to extend at the City's discretion. Key aspects of the job include: • Handling all jury trials, contested dockets, public defense pretrial dockets, bench trials, motions dockets, pro se/retained pretrial dockets, trial readiness dockets, witness interviews, and appeals • Producing all discovery, plea offers, orders, briefs, subpoenas, witness lists, motions, jury instructions, and final disposition letters • Meeting the minimum qualifications, including having at least one licensed attorney with five years of criminal and/or municipal law experience and one non-attorney to assist in the provision of services
